Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Addresses Incident at 'Akvatek'

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is investigating details surrounding the recent incident at the 'Akvatek' health resort complex in cooperation with the Office of the Human Rights Defender. The investigation aims to ensure an appropriate resolution of the situation.

While the bilateral investigation proceeds, the Ministry emphasizes that one of the fundamental principles of state policy on ensuring and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities is the prohibition of discrimination.

According to the statement, "The Ministry is committed to ensuring accessible conditions and opportunities for persons with disabilities to fully and effectively participate in public life on an equal basis with others."

It was reported that eight children with disabilities traveling from Vanadzor to Yerevan were denied entry to the 'Water World' (later clarified to be 'Akvatek') on the grounds that they would disturb the peace of other guests. The information was made public based on an alarm raised by the grandmother of one of the children on social media.

The 'Water World' has responded to the accusations directed at them, denying the allegations and promising to release facts soon.
