Incident at Aquatek Sport Complex: User Shares New Details
As reported yesterday, eight children with disabilities traveling from Vanadzor to Yerevan were denied entry to "Waterworld" on the grounds that they would disturb the leisure of others. The information was released based on an alert from one of the children's parents.
The center of the scandal, "Waterworld," responded to the accusations directed at them, denying the claims and promising to publish evidence soon.
It should be noted that the user who raised the issue in the comments section responded, stating that the children were not only accompanied by the mentioned young volunteers and a teenager, but also by their parents. "The children were with their parents. The transfer from Vanadzor to Yerevan was organized by young volunteers who make one day a week a celebration for these children. A call was made from Vanadzor to clarify that the entry fee for a child with a disability to the Waterworld aquapark is 2500 drams, while for a non-disabled person, it is 5000 drams. They arrived and were told in the reception area that they needed to pay 4000 drams. The young volunteer said, 'We did not agree on that over the phone,' and one of the parents said, 'My disabled child entered for free a week ago,' and called the director, who was to come in with one of the volunteers to say that their visit would disturb the others as well," the woman wrote.
Later, Hasmik Solomonian made another post on her Facebook page, stating: "I thank my caring and empathetic friends, both known and unknown. Thanks to you, I am convinced that the face of the Armenian people is not represented by these small-minded individuals. The face of the Armenian people was represented by the numerous comments from those who were sincerely and selflessly ready to welcome the little ones. I want to emphasize once again that the issue occurred at the 'Aquatek Sport Complex.' I will await a response from the relevant authorities."
