Armenian Citizen Attempts to Smuggle 2-Kilogram Gold Chain into Turkey; Arrested

An Armenian citizen attempted to smuggle a 2-kilogram gold chain into Turkey. This was reported by Govoritmoskva.

The individual was spotted by police at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport. The chain is valued at approximately 9 million rubles (around $93,000), yet the smuggler tried to convince the authorities that it was only worth 50,000 rubles. An examination revealed that the chain is 99.9% pure gold.

The man has been arrested. A criminal case has been initiated for smuggling, and he faces up to seven years in prison.
