The West Aims to Divide CIS Countries and Destroy the Organization, Lebedev Says
The Collective West intends to sow discord among the CIS countries and destroy the organization. This statement was made by the CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev during a joint meeting of the council of heads of state and public television and radio companies of member states, and the administrative council of the CIS Intergovernmental Information Fund, held in Minsk.
“The sanctions policy and the unprecedented harsh pressure exerted by the so-called Collective West on CIS countries, primarily Russia and Belarus, encourages us to unite efforts to counter the organized misinformation campaign against us. You can see for yourselves how much falsehood and malice exists in the messages of Western mass media about our countries. There is an overt desire to divide us, to sow discord among us, and to destroy our Cooperation,” he stated.
He emphasized that it is more important than ever to promote unity and friendship among the peoples of CIS countries.
According to the Secretary General, the leaders of CIS states sincerely and confidently discuss the situation created in the world and in the Cooperation region at summits and are determined to do everything possible to strengthen the CIS, improve the living standards of the organization’s populations, and jointly address problems.
The CIS includes post-Soviet countries: Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Tajikistan.
