It’s a Matter of Significant Expenses: What Did Alen Simonyan Discuss with the Parents of the Missing Soldiers?
During the 44-day war, the parents of missing soldiers met with the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan. One of the parents who attended the meeting provided details to Tert.am.
“Andranik Kocharyan was not answering any of our calls. We demanded either to meet with Alen Simonyan or Haik Konjoyan. We met with Alen Simonyan, but he told us that he has no authority to deal with the issues concerning our sons. Even Alen Simonyan called Andranik Kocharyan from our side, but there was no response. Kocharyan knew that we wouldn’t leave until we saw him, which is why he turned off his phone,” said the parent.
According to them, they demanded that everything possible be done to retrieve their children. “We suggested using a satellite to gather details, as the satellite has captured images and can help understand where our boys are, how they went missing, whether they fled or were captured, and where they might be hiding. However, Alen Simonyan told us that it’s a matter of significant expenses,” they elaborated.
The parents are planning to return on Monday and will remain in the NA reception area until they have a meeting with Andranik Kocharyan. It is noteworthy that in the morning, the parents of the soldiers had held a protest in front of the government building, then proceeded to the NA.
