A Peaceful March Planned Towards the Hakar Bridge in Artsakh
A peaceful march is planned towards the Hakar Bridge in Artsakh, where Azerbaijan has set up an illegal checkpoint and is holding Artsakh under blockade, restricting the free movement of people and vehicles through the Lachin corridor.
In a conversation with an Armenpress correspondent, Arthur Osipyan, a member of the initiative group, stated that they see the solution to the current situation through peaceful struggle.
“Given the situation we are in, we can peacefully march with a large number of civilians to Hakar and resolve the issues on site, meaning we can enter into negotiations. This does not mean that we reject the state bodies of Artsakh, as there is an opinion that we are doing what Aliyev says. This is not the case. We are raising the issues through a popular movement, indicating that it is not some criminals who have seized power in Artsakh and are trying to impose their will, but rather that the people and the authorities are united in all aspects concerning self-determination and the status of Artsakh. This movement is an independent popular movement. It is a new idea of popular movement that we must embark on to unblock the corridor ourselves,” Osipyan elaborated.
Regarding the timing of the march, Osipyan indicated that they will not be rushing.
