The People Living in Nagorno-Karabakh Face an Existential Threat, Says Armenian Representative at the UN

The people living in Nagorno-Karabakh are facing an existential threat due to complete blockade conditions imposed by Azerbaijan. This was announced by the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN, Mher Margaryan.

“Azerbaijan has continued to block the Lachin corridor for 7 months. This is a crucial route for the transportation of humanitarian aid. It connects Nagorno-Karabakh with the outside world,” he noted.

“Since July 15, the halt of humanitarian transports by Azerbaijan has resulted in a critical shortage of food, medicine, and other essential goods, leading to a large-scale humanitarian crisis. The disruption of electricity and gas supplies has paralyzed medical assistance systems,” Margaryan emphasized.
