When the Armenian Government Recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as Azerbaijani, Demands Against Russia Are Unfounded – Zakharova

Responding to Nikol Pashinyan's statements regarding Russian peacekeepers, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova raised a question: "I do not understand whether Mr. Pashinyan wants the peacekeepers to withdraw."

Zakharova also inquired whether the Armenian authorities find the presence of peacekeepers undesirable. According to Zakharova, Russian peacekeepers carry out crucial functions.

"Representatives of the Armenian leadership often adopt ambiguous positions on several key issues, and it would be very desirable for there to be no ambiguity on this matter because wordplay does not lead to good outcomes. Attempts to place everything under doubt raise significant questions," she stated.

Zakharova also mentioned, "After Armenia's recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, any claims about the lack of Russia's efforts or Russian peacekeepers seem doubly inappropriate."
