Crocodile Eats 29-Year-Old Footballer in Costa Rica

Jesús Alberto López Ortiz, a Costa Rican footballer from the amateur club Deportivo Río Cañas, has been eaten by a crocodile, according to РИА Новости, referencing The Sun.

The incident occurred on Saturday when the animal attacked the athlete as he was swimming in the Cañas River in the Guanacaste province. Later, law enforcement shot the crocodile.

Deportivo Río Cañas reported on social media that the footballer’s funeral took place on Wednesday. López Ortiz was 29 years old and had two children.
