VIDEO: Men Provide Alcohol to Bear in Captivity

Yesterday evening, a user named Anya Sahakyan shared a video showing several men feeding alcohol to a bear kept in captivity for entertainment. The circulating footage reveals how these men provide alcohol to the bear, prompting amusement among themselves.

The information was reported by the Telegram channel of the Animal Rights Movement (ՇՄԱԳ). The user called on the police to address this incident, which was livestreamed on the page of a user named Gugo Khanoian on July 16 before being deleted.

“People do not understand that, at that moment, they are torturing and slowly killing a defenseless wild creature that has the right to live, effectively turning it into a slave, a clown, and an object of amusement. This is a major civilizational issue, and our legislation is also written and operates within the framework of that civilization. We have not yet descended to the level of punishing ‘mass exterminations of animals.’ And we are not even sure that the state is considering a solution to this problem,” the statement reads.

According to the message, this issue should be addressed by the Environmental and Subsoil Inspection, but it is not being handled. “Perhaps there are not enough personnel, the workload is high, and the legislation is deficient, but still, it is not being addressed,” it concludes.
