Defense Team of Vladimir Gasparyan Responds to Prosecutor's Statement
The defense team of former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan has issued a statement regarding the Prosecutor General's announcement today.
"A short while ago, the announcement by the Armenian Prosecutor's Office was published, stating that the Supervisory Prosecutor confirmed the indictment against the daughter of former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan on July 23, 2023, and handed the materials of the criminal case over to the Anti-Corruption Court. Recently, there has been a tendency in the Armenian judiciary to constantly exploit the names of Vladimir Gasparyan and his family members in each case, highlighting their alleged criminal acts and thereby creating a negative impression of Vladimir Gasparyan, who played a significant role in the establishment of the Armenian state and is recognized as one of the most powerful and authoritative chiefs of police in Armenia’s history, along with his family members. We are pleased that all fabricated criminal cases are already in court, as everyone will witness the process of dismantling those engineered cases.
P.S. Everything that is constructed can also be dismantled.
Defense Lawyers of Vladimir Gasparyan: Erik Aleksanyan, Aleksandr Kochubayev," the statement reads.
It should be noted that earlier it was reported that the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia has indicated that Vladimir Gasparyan's daughter held a position in the police force but did not attend her service while still receiving a salary.
