VIDEO: Over 52,000 Evacuated in Beijing Due to Heavy Rainfall
In the capital of China, Beijing, the number of people evacuated due to heavy rainfall has exceeded 52,000. This was reported by the Beijing Wanbao newspaper, citing the Beijing Flood Prevention Administration.
Previously, the number of evacuees was reported to be 31,338.
It was also noted that 107 mountainous roads have been closed, and work has been halted at 4,069 construction sites. Tourist attractions in the city are also closed.
Earlier today, Beijing authorities issued a 'red' (the highest) warning regarding geological disasters and meteorological risks, due to the high risk of landslides, mudflows, and ground collapses in certain areas of the city. Additionally, the Beijing Meteorological Station announced the highest warning level due to heavy rainfall in various districts of Beijing.
