Video: 'My father was not Samvel Babayan's driver,' says Vagif Khachatryan's daughter

The daughter of Vagif Khachatryan, who was kidnapped by Azerbaijanis, Vera Khachatryan, has denied rumors that her father was the driver of former Defense Army commander Samvel Babayan.

"Azerbaijan presents facts that do not correspond to reality. Recently, they claimed he was Samvel Babayan's driver. My dear ones, that is false information. He is a very balanced, reserved person. The photos circulating on the internet, supposedly showing my father's pictures from his youth, also do not correspond to reality; they are not my father's pictures," she said.

According to Vera Khachatryan, Vagif Khachatryan was in very serious health condition.

It is reminded that Vagif Khachatryan was abducted by representatives of the Azerbaijani border service on July 29. The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has declared that he has been arrested.

According to the charges, Vagif Khachatryan allegedly created a criminal group that participated in crimes against the residents of the Meshali village in the Khojaly region on December 21, 1991.
