VIDEO: Despite Warnings, Volcanic Eruption in Iceland Attracts Tourists

Tourists continue to gather at the site of a volcanic eruption in Iceland, despite warnings from authorities. The volcano, located in a remote valley near Mount Litli Hrutur, continues to exhibit seismic activity by ejecting flows of hot lava.

Due to toxic gas emissions that pose a threat to life, authorities have forbidden visitors from entering the eruption area. Nevertheless, many tourists are willing to travel long distances to witness this natural phenomenon.

The volcano also erupted in 2021 and 2022 without causing harm or disrupting flights. Before that, it had been dormant for nearly 6,000 years.
