Two Men Burn Quran in Sweden

In the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, on July 31, during a demonstration in front of the parliament, two men set the Quran on fire once again. Before lighting the book, the men stomped on the holy text.

It has been reported that earlier local media mentioned one of the men had announced plans for a new demonstration. The Stockholm police granted permission for the protest.

“I will burn it several times until the Quran is banned,” said Salwan Najem to a local newspaper.

It is noted that the burning of the Quran has garnered significant international attention, and following these demonstrations, Sweden has found itself in a deep diplomatic crisis with several Muslim countries, particularly Iraq, with which diplomatic relations have been severed.
