New French Ambassador in Armenia Shares Mount Ararat Image on Twitter
The new French ambassador to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, has shared an image of Mount Ararat as part of his profile picture on Twitter.
Decottignies has previously carried out his diplomatic service at the Washington Institute. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the second consul at the French embassy in Iran. Following that, he dealt with political-military issues at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly concerning NATO and EU political-military affairs in Libya, the Balkans, and the Caucasus. Before arriving in Armenia, he was the French consul in Iraqi Kurdistan.
It is worth noting that on July 9, Denis Jorkaeff, the honorary consul of Armenia in France, announced that Olivier Decottignies, an advisor on foreign relations and former chief consul in Erbil, has been appointed as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the French Republic in Armenia. He took up his new position on July 21, following a decree signed by the French president on July 6.
