Peskov Discusses Putin's Message to North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un

The Kremlin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has not disclosed the content of the message sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which was delivered by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu during his visit to North Korea. This was reported by РИА Новости.

"It was a personal message," Peskov stated in response to a journalist's question about the content of the message.

On July 27, Putin sent a telegram to Kim Jong-un congratulating him on the victory in the Korean War (1950-1953). This marks the first time the Russian leader has congratulated Pyongyang on this occasion. In the letter, Putin called for maintaining and enhancing the "glorious traditions of friendship, brotherhood, and mutual assistance," as well as continuing to confront the collective West.

It was previously reported that Shoigu conveyed the Russian president's personal message to Kim Jong-un during their meeting in Pyongyang on July 26. According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the North Korean leader expressed gratitude for the message. The agency also reported that the Russian defense minister and Kim Jong-un exchanged gifts.
