Medvedev: 'Potentially Dangerous Games'
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, has described the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin as unrealistic and dangerous for peace.
“The pathetic judges of the ICC continue to justify their unrealistic and thus dangerous decision for peace on the planet, regarding the arrest warrant for the President of Russia,” he wrote on his Telegram channel, as reported by RIA Novosti.
Medvedev also characterized the arrest warrants and proceedings against Russia as a game of impotence, reminding that all of this constitutes “potentially dangerous games.”
“The orders, prosecutors, and processes against Russia – all of this is entertainment for our enemies, who amuse themselves out of impotence. And yet, it is important to remember: these are potentially dangerous games. Such actions can become casus belli at any moment,” he wrote.
Medvedev stated that the decisions of the International Criminal Court are pathetic for Russia as long as it does not voluntarily become a member of that organization, which will never happen. “Our country has no connection to the Rome Statute of the ICC and is not obligated to cooperate with it. Its decisions are insignificant for us as long as we do not voluntarily become participants in that organization. And that will never happen,” he concluded.
