The Bail Conditions of MP Mher Sahakyan Have Changed

In the court hearing regarding the incident between MP Mher Sahakyan from the 'Armenia' faction and Vladimir Vardanyan from the 'Civil Contract' faction, the court has changed Mher Sahakyan's bail conditions. This was reported to Tert.am by his lawyer Ruben Melikyan.

According to him, the previously imposed bail condition preventing Sahakyan from leaving has been modified at the request of the defense side and now the alternative bail condition applied is a pledge set at 500,000 AMD.

It should be recalled that on March 31, 2023, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against Mher Sahakyan as part of criminal proceedings launched by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan’s department for serious crimes, regarding the incident that took place in the National Assembly.

According to the charges, on March 31, 2023, Mher Sahakyan committed hooliganism and, with hooligan motives, caused minor injury to the health of the chairman of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs, Vladimir Vardanyan, in the closed working discussion hall No. 314 of the administrative building No. 2 of the National Assembly (under Article 297, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code on hooliganism and Article 171, part 2, point 7 regarding causing bodily harm or other injury to health due to hooligan motives).
