Ruling Civil Contract Party to Hold Gathering-Fundraiser; Pashinyan Issues Instructions
The ruling Civil Contract Party is set to hold a gathering on the evening of Monday, July 31, and organize a fundraiser in anticipation of the upcoming Yerevan City Council elections. This information is reported by the newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’.
According to the publication, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will also participate in the event, although the exact location of the gathering is still under discussion. It is likely that they will convene at the ‘Dvin’ restaurant.
“As our sources within the CP indicate, there is a lot of activity in the party leading up to the gathering, as they are preparing for the event to go smoothly. Moreover, according to our sources, Nikol Pashinyan has internally instructed the deputies to bring at least five guests each, so that the gathering will have a large turnout. In addition, the deputies have been told that each of the guests they bring should contribute 20,000 drams to the ruling party under the guise of a fundraiser,” the newspaper writes.
The media notes that the CP had conducted similar fundraising events in 2017, 2018, and 2021.
It is worth mentioning that the Yerevan City Council elections are scheduled for September 17. The candidate for mayor from the Civil Contract Party is former Deputy Prime Minister and current Vice Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan.
