Certain High-Profit Activities Will Be Removed from the Micro-Entrepreneurship Sector, Says Deputy Minister
We are considering removing certain types of activities from the micro-entrepreneurship sector; these are the types characterized by high profitability. This was stated today, July 28, at a press conference by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Arman Poghosyan.
“In our opinion, it is unjustifiable to have high-profit activities in an environment intended for simple types of activities. At this point, I will refrain from naming specific types of activities because we are still in discussions,” the deputy minister said.
He reminded that the government program has declared that work will be done to align the tax burden formed in alternative tax systems with the general taxation system. “The goal is to create a simplified tax accounting environment that involves light tax administration for small and medium businesses. This means having the same level of tax burden, just in an environment governed by simpler rules,” Arman Poghosyan stated.
“Now our calculations show that the tax burden in the turnover tax system is significantly lower than in the general taxation system. Discussing this issue is on our agenda to understand to what extent the tax burdens in these two systems can be aligned,” added Arman Poghosyan.
