France Condemns Azerbaijan's Blockade of the Lachin Corridor

France has expressed its regret regarding Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin Corridor, which contradicts the commitments made in ceasefire agreements and harms the negotiation process. This statement was released by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Paris fully supports the statement made by the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on July 26 concerning the humanitarian situation affecting the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

France urges Azerbaijan to fulfill its international obligations, specifically to implement the interim measures outlined in the International Court's ruling on February 22, which are binding.

France calls for the restoration of free movement of goods, people, and products through the Lachin Corridor in both directions, as well as the uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity to the population.

“Together with the European Union, France remains fully committed to establishing sustainable and just peace in the region,” the ministry noted, referencing the message from the French minister during his visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan at the end of April.
