VIDEO: It Is Possible to Apply to the UN Security Council Within One Hour, Says Pashinyan

The option to apply to the UN Security Council is part of our toolkit, and understandably, we are also working in that direction. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in response to a journalist's question about whether Armenia could appeal to the UN Security Council regarding Azerbaijan's failure to implement decisions of the International Court of Justice.

“We are in contact with both permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council; we are in the discussion phase. There is no difficulty in applying to the UN Security Council; it is possible to apply within just one hour. The issue is whether a decision will be made regarding that application, and if so, what kind of decision it will be. However, let’s not forget that the UN Security Council is the implementing body of the International Court of Justice, but we must also remember that it is a political body, and especially for such matters, the steps to appeal to the Security Council must be adequately prepared and discussed with member countries, which we are doing,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
