On July 24, at 3:30 PM, a 36-year-old woman from the village of Gargarr in the Lori region called the police operational management center. According to her, her former husband has poured gasoline on the house, threatened to burn it down, and also struck her on the head with a rock.
The alarm was relayed to the Stepanavan police department, from where an operational group rushed to Gargarr. The developments of the incident could be averted, but it was revealed that the former husband had hit not only his ex-wife but also the sister of her current husband. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with a fracture of the wrist and shin, as well as a hematoma.
A criminal case was initiated in the Stepanavan investigative department on the grounds of attempted murder. As a result of operational and investigative measures undertaken by the Stepanavan criminal investigators, the former husband was located and arrested at around 5:30 PM. Details of the incident were also outlined.
At around 3 PM, the 35-year-old ex-husband from Vanadzor arrived in Gargarr, the current residence of his ex-wife. During a dispute, he threatened to kill her, and while doing so, poured gasoline from a nearby container on the woman, her current 55-year-old husband, and himself, but the 55-year-old man managed to grab the lighter from him and push him outside. Once outside, the former husband struck first the 68-year-old woman, and then his ex-wife with stones.
The documents compiled have been sent to the preliminary investigation body. The 35-year-old resident of Vanadzor has been transferred to a detention facility, and the circumstances are being clarified during the investigation.
