A Tree Falls Due to Strong Winds, Damaging a Gas Pipeline and Causing a Gas Leak

On July 24, at 17:38, the Crisis Management Center of the Shirak Regional Rescue Department received a report that a tree had broken and fallen on a gas pipeline on Komsomol Street in the city of Maralik due to strong winds, resulting in a gas leak. This was reported by the Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

A firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a branch of the tree had fallen on a gas pipeline located in the yard of one of the houses on Komsomol Street, damaging it.

Rescuers cordoned off the area and removed the broken branches of the tree. Employees of the emergency gas service present at the scene managed to stop the gas leak.

The Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that at 19:58, the Crisis Management Center of the Tavush Regional Rescue Department received a report that a tree had fallen on the Ijevan-Dilijan highway, completely blocking the road.

Another firefighting and rescue team was dispatched to the scene. It was found that a tree approximately 10 meters long had fallen on the traffic lane near the 10th kilometer of the Ijevan-Dilijan highway. Rescuers cleared the tree from the traffic area, and two-way traffic was restored.
