EU Imposes Sanctions to Prevent Iranian UAV Production

The European Union has imposed sanctions to prevent the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Iran. This is stated in a press release published on the official website of the European Council.

"The sanctions prohibit the export from the EU of components used in the construction and production of UAVs to Iran. They also include travel restrictions and asset freezes that can be applied to those supporting and participating in the Iranian UAV program," the document states.

The European Council has also decided to include six Iranians in its list of sanctions for military assistance to Russia, specifically for participating in the sale of UAVs to the Russian side. Western countries assert that during the military operations in Ukraine, Russia has used and continues to use Iranian UAVs. Moscow and Tehran deny this.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, stated that Tehran reserves the right to respond proportionately to these actions.
