Eco-activists Glue Themselves to Airport Runway in Madrid, Disrupting Operations

Members of the Futuro Vegetal movement glued themselves to the runway of one of Madrid's airports. The organization reported this on its Twitter account, as noted by Газета.

It is mentioned that two girls managed to bypass security and reach the runway, where they glued their hands to the asphalt. According to the activists, this action has paralyzed movement in the area.

Airport staff were compelled to temporarily close the area for flights. The girls have been arrested, but it is currently unclear what penalties they may face.

Spain's elections are scheduled for July 23, announced by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez following the decision to dissolve parliament.
