Double Olympic Champion Yelena Isinbayeva Sued: The Reason Revealed
The government of Russia's Volgograd region has filed a lawsuit against double Olympic champion in pole vaulting, Yelena Isinbayeva, due to unpaid parking fees. This information comes from the Telegram channel Baza.
Interestingly, this coincides with a scandal involving the Olympic champion that emerged recently. Isinbayeva has been sued for two parking lots, covering a total area of 40 square meters. Although the lots belong to the athlete, the land on which they are situated is owned by the Volgograd city administration, and property owners are required to sign a contract with them and pay rent. However, Isinbayeva has not signed the necessary documents and has not communicated with the authorities since 2019. As a result, she now owes 27,400 rubles.
It is worth noting that journalists from the Spanish publication El Digital Sur reported that the athlete lives in the Canary Islands and has a house there with an area of about 200 square meters. At the same time, the publication expressed surprise at how a current Russian Federation official holding a minor rank could reside in a NATO country.
Athlete Isinbayeva responded to the article, referring to herself as a “person of the world” and stating that her military rank is “nominal” and was awarded for her performances at CSKA (ЦСКА).
