Apart from Torn Wounds, There Were Also Fractures on the Head: The Dog that Bit the 8-Year-Old Child has been Isolated

In the Spitak community of the Lori province, a citizen's dog broke free from its chain and attacked two playing children, causing numerous bodily injuries. This was reported by the State Service for Food Safety (SSFS).

Auroranews was informed by the Spitak Hospital that the 8-year-old child's condition remains severe but stable, with positive dynamics. The child continues to receive necessary medical care, and it was noted that the dog was an Armenian gampr.

"In reality, the child's injuries were very serious. Upon admission, the child's condition was extremely critical, with wounds located on the upper limbs and head. There were torn lacerated wounds on the temporal-parietal region, cheek, maxillary, and temporal skin areas. In addition to torn wounds, there were fractures on the head. After a surgery lasting more than 1.5 hours, the child's life was saved," said Edward Arzumanyan, the spokesperson for Spitak Hospital.

Minutes after the child was admitted to the hospital, another citizen from the same neighborhood was also admitted with dog bite wounds. He received necessary first aid and was later discharged from the hospital.

According to the SSFS, the dog has been immediately isolated. According to established procedures, the animal will be under daily observation, and in case of changes in behavior or the presence of specific diseases, particularly rabies, appropriate actions will be taken (the dog will be euthanized and subjected to laboratory testing).
