Joint Russian-Chinese Exercises Begin in the Sea of Japan
Joint Russian-Chinese naval exercises titled "North/Interaction-2023" have commenced in the Sea of Japan, reported the Pacific Fleet. According to the fleet's headquarters, "in accordance with the international military cooperation plan, joint naval exercises between Russia and China are being held from July 20 to July 23 in the Sea of Japan under the title 'North/Interaction - 2023.'"
"The main objective of the exercises is to strengthen naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, maintaining stability and peace in the Asia-Pacific region," the statement reads.
During the joint operations, anti-submarine missions and naval battles will be practiced, alongside the maritime and aerial escort of ships, as well as control and defensive formations. Joint artillery fire is also planned to be conducted.
