Supermodel Gigi Hadid Arrested

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has been arrested on charges of possession of marijuana. TMZ reports that the incident occurred after Hadid, 27, traveled from the United States to the Cayman Islands on a private jet on July 10.

Upon arriving at Owen Roberts International Airport, customs officials scanned the model's luggage, discovering a small amount of marijuana. Hadid and her companion were arrested for drug importation and taken to the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Centre. There, the model posted a bail of $1,000 and was released pending her court appearance.

In March 2023, Gigi Hadid gave an interview to the Sunday Times, where she described herself as a “privileged child.” She shared, “Technically, I am a privileged child. My parents were very poor, but I always recognized that I had advantages. My parents told me, ‘Just because you have successful parents doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out and work hard, as hard as you can.’”
