Will New Commanders Be Arrested? 'Joghvourd'

The newspaper 'Joghvourd' reports that the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia issued a statement on Friday regarding secret investigative complex actions conducted against several officials of the Ministry of Defense. It was revealed that V. M., holding the position of commander of military unit N of the Ministry of Defense, demanded a bribe of a total of 19 million 500 thousand AMD from V. Y., the director of 'Masisi Spring Kar Factory' LLC, in exchange for providing protection. Part of this amount has already been received.

It turns out that this is not the only case uncovered by the Anti-Corruption Committee. Sources from 'Joghvourd' indicate that this investigative body has also uncovered a chain within the Ministry of Defense, where many commanders have been involved in soldier relocations for a fee, putting them in the crosshairs of law enforcement. Our sources report that a similar network has already been uncovered in the Ararat province. More commanders are expected to be arrested soon.
