Video: Mass Protests Held in Israel

Mass protests have begun in various parts of Israel since early morning against a bill related to the judicial system, which has passed its first reading in parliament. During the protests, 20 people have been arrested, and one woman was injured as a result of being hit by a car. This is reported by the Jerusalem Post.

In Tel Aviv, hundreds of demonstrators surrounded the courthouse, writing "shame" on the wall. Traffic jams have formed on different intercity roads across the country.

The reforms aim to limit the powers of the Supreme Court and grant control over the selection of judges to the executive branch of government. The government's proposal of this bill had already sparked large-scale protests months ago. The process of passing the bill was postponed due to the protests.

Jerusalem Post notes that the future of the protests is uncertain as the Knesset will go on summer recess starting July 30.
