Restoration of the Crimean Bridge May Cost 1-1.3 Billion Rubles: Khusnullin
The construction of an additional bridge, necessary for the repair of the Crimean Bridge, will take two months. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Marat Khusnullin. According to him, the restoration will cost between 1 and 1.3 billion rubles based on preliminary data, as reported by Kommersant.ru.
“Yesterday we began transporting pipes and metal structures from Tolyatti. We will complete the construction in two months,” said the Deputy Prime Minister during a 'Open Dialogue' session with Russian senators. The temporary bridge will be 250 meters long since it is impossible to approach the damaged section from the sea.
Currently, traffic on the bridge is being conducted in a diversion mode. According to Marat Khusnullin, two-way traffic from one side of the Crimean Bridge is set to begin by September 15, while the other side will follow suit by November 1. In the near future, the operation of trucks on the Crimean Bridge is not planned due to safety concerns, he noted.
