Putin Calls Non-fulfillment of Russia's Conditions in Grain Deal 'Brazen and Uncouth'

Russian President Vladimir Putin labeled the failure to fulfill Russia's conditions within the framework of the grain deal as 'brazen and uncouth.' This was reported by РИА Новости.

'It's just outright brazen and uncouth. Promises and empty babble! And they have only discredited themselves with this. They have also undermined the authority of the UN Secretariat leadership, which effectively acted as a guarantor of the grain deal,' said Putin during a video conference with members of the Russian government.

On July 18, the grain deal was suspended. On July 17, Russia informed Turkey, Ukraine, and the UN that it was opposed to the extension of the deal. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had indicated that the conditions of the deal concerning Russia had not been fulfilled, despite the efforts of the UN.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the refusal to extend the 'Black Sea Initiative' means a withdrawal of guarantees for navigation safety, the closure of the maritime humanitarian corridor, the restoration of a temporary dangerous area regime in the northwestern Black Sea, and the dissolution of the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul.
