Why It Won't Be Easy for Messi in MLS: Rooney Explains
Wayne Rooney, head coach of D.C. United and former Manchester United player, has evaluated the prospects of Argentine striker Lionel Messi in MLS. According to Armsport.am, he stated:
“Everything is ready for Messi. His friends, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, have come to him. They will probably be joined by Iniesta and Suarez. Messi has a coach he loves and trusts, which is very important for MLS.
However, it won’t be easy for Messi here. It sounds crazy, but players who come here consider it a difficult league. Transfers, different conditions in different cities, and there is great energy and tension on the field. Americans love winners. First of all, they want to see mastery and have fun, and Messi delivers everything,” Rooney's words are quoted by Goal.
Messi could make his debut with Inter Miami on July 21 against Mexican club Cruz Azul.
