Tesla Announces Production of 'Cybertruck' Pickup

American entrepreneur Elon Musk's Tesla has announced the start of production for its 'Cybertruck' pickup via its Twitter microblog. The company shared a photo of the first electric pickup created at one of its Texas factories.

"The first 'Cybertruck' has been built based on Giga Texas," the company's statement reads.

Tesla unveiled the prototype of the 'Cybertruck' back in 2019. The model's body is made from ultra-high-strength steel, which is also used in the construction of SpaceX rockets.

With one charge, the vehicle can travel up to 800 kilometers. The pickup will be able to carry more than 1.5 tons of cargo, and it can accelerate to 96 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
