Vitaly Balasanyan's Health Condition Has Deteriorated, Lawyer Says

The health condition of Artsakh hero and former Secretary of the Security Council, Vitaly Balasanyan, has deteriorated. This was stated by Balasanyan's lawyer, Raphael Martírosyan, in an interview with NEWS.am.

"He needs medical intervention. I just learned that he needs to be transferred to the hospital. He has undergone a heart-related surgery; this might be the reason," said the lawyer.

Regarding reports of violence against Balasanyan, Martírosyan stated, "I confirm that there are bodily injuries on Balasanyan, which have been documented by a doctor."

It is noteworthy that on July 14, law enforcement officers arrested Vitaly Balasanyan. He has been arrested on suspicion of committing a crime under Article 337, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Artsakh. This article defines the act of committing non-dangerous violence or threatening violence against a public representative or their close relatives concerning the execution of their official duties.
