VIDEO: Passenger Train Collides with Beer-Laden Truck in North Ossetia
A passenger train traveling from Moscow to Vladikavkaz collided with a truck in North Ossetia. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia-Alania.
According to RIA Novosti, the truck was loaded with beer barrels. The cause of the accident, according to the Ministry, was the truck veering off the road.
The train will be delayed by approximately 2 hours, the agency emphasized. The incident occurred on July 14 at 8:00 AM. The truck driver exited at a controlled level crossing into the path of an oncoming train.
The driver applied emergency braking; however, the distance was reportedly insufficient and a collision could not be avoided. The truck driver has been hospitalized, and one passenger on the train also required medical assistance, which was provided on-site.
