Video: Part of the Ordu-Sivas Highway Collapses Due to Heavy Rain in Turkey
Heavy rain in Turkey has caused a section of the Ordu-Sivas highway, which connects the Black and Mediterranean Seas, to collapse, local media report.
No fatalities or injuries have been reported as a result of the collapse. The governor of Ordu province, Tuncay Sonel, stated that the Ordu-Sivas highway is closed to traffic in both directions.
The heavy rains in Turkey began on the evening of July 8 and continue to this day. During this period, at least 32 residential buildings and 35 vehicles have been damaged due to flooding and landslides, according to a statement posted on the Ordu governor's website.
Efforts are underway in the region to assess the damage and restore infrastructure.
