French President Emmanuel Macron was met with boos as he passed through the Élysée Palace during the traditional military parade marking the country's main national holiday, Bastille Day. This was reported by RIA Novosti, referencing BFM TV.

According to the TV channel, shouts of "Macron, resign" could also be heard from the crowd gathered along the street.

Earlier, the French government faced sharp criticism due to the implementation of pension reforms. Additionally, the situation was exacerbated by recent mass riots that erupted following the police shooting of a 17-year-old teenager. In particular, the French noted that the president decided to convene a crisis group meeting only on the third day of the riots. Furthermore, the president himself left for Brussels to attend a European Union summit during the height of the protests, but had to cut his trip short due to the escalation of the situation.
