Yerevan and Baku Narrowed the Scope of Unresolved Issues during Talks in Washington: US State Department Spokesperson

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have significantly narrowed the range of unresolved issues during their recent meeting in Washington. This was announced by US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

“When we say that peace is close, we mean that they have made significant progress on a number of issues. Even during the latest meeting, they narrowed the scope of the unresolved issues. Therefore, we believe that, considering the reduction in the number of issues to be resolved, the agreement is close,” said Matthew Miller.

Miller emphasized that both sides must be willing to compromise to achieve a “peace agreement.” Regarding the next negotiations between the heads of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministries, Miller noted that no such meeting is currently planned.
