Kiev bans listening to Russian songs in public spaces
Kiev has banned the listening of Russian songs and reading Russian books in public spaces, as well as the public use of other Russian-language cultural products. This was reported by the official portal of the capital of Ukraine.
The ban includes Russian-language books, art albums, audiovisual works, music recordings, handcrafted items, theatrical and circus performances, concerts, and services. It also applies to material cultural objects that have historical or artistic significance.
In October 2022, a ban was imposed across Ukraine on playing songs by Russian performers in public transport, as well as on television and radio. The ban has also affected concerts by Russian performers.
