UK Plans to Announce New Major Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The United Kingdom is expected to announce a new major shipment of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine in the near future, according to sources from the UK Prime Minister's office.

The package will include additional ammunition and combat vehicles, as well as £50 million allocated for repairing equipment and establishing new rehabilitation centers for military personnel.

Specifically, it is planned to supply additional ammunition for the previously sent "Challenger 2" tanks to Kyiv, along with more than 70 combat vehicles and logistical support, including combat reconnaissance vehicles.

The report cites UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's statement, emphasizing that London is "reinforcing Ukraine's long-term defense measures." He also stated, "Support for Ukraine on its path to NATO membership, combined with formal multilateral and bilateral agreements and overwhelming support from NATO members, will send a strong signal (...) and bring peace back to Europe."

Downing Street also noted that G7 partners are expected to finalize security measures for Ukraine during the NATO summit in Vilnius on Wednesday. "This is the first time so many countries have been negotiating such a comprehensive long-term security agreement with another country," the statement said.

It is anticipated that G7 members will commit to providing Kyiv with "more defense technologies and equipment, increasing and accelerating the exchange of intelligence data, strengthening defenses against cyber and hybrid threats, expanding military training programs, and developing Ukraine's industrial base," the office added.
