Regulation of Regular Passenger Transport Organization Process
The Economic Affairs Standing Committee of the National Assembly discussed the draft law on amendments and additions to the law on "Automobile Transport" in a special session on July 12.
Main reporter, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonian noted that it is proposed to revise the fare in case of changes in the routes and schemes of separate routes of unified route networks, or to set the fare without a competition for new routes not planned through the competition for the selection of a unified operator.
It was stated that the fare may be revised based on the proposal of the competition commission and approved by the decision of the relevant authority organizing the route network, while the Government confirms the requirements for fare revision.
According to the deputy minister, the requirements for the accessibility of transport vehicles serving regular intra-community passenger transport in multi-population communities for persons with disabilities will also be revised.
It was mentioned that after the first reading, technical proposals were made, which have been accepted. The committee members have given a positive conclusion to the revised draft law.
