Prosecutor General's Office Initiates Process to Declare International Wanted Notice for Vigen Sargsyan
The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has initiated the process to declare an international wanted notice for former Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan. According to information provided to "Lurer" by the Prosecutor General's Office, the term of criminal prosecution against him has been suspended due to the unknown whereabouts.
In a criminal case initiated in 2019, Vigen Sargsyan is accused of abusing his official powers. According to the prosecution, in 2018, during the distribution of apartments from the balance of the Ministry of Defense, he ordered the allocation of apartments to 29 individuals out of turn. Notably, 4 of these individuals were not even registered on the housing list, and 2 of them were not even military personnel. The others would have had to wait their turn longer.
The court has decided to take Sargsyan into custody.
