VIDEO: Militants Launch Armed Attack on Police Station in Southeastern Iran
Several militants launched an armed attack today, July 8, on the police station in Zahedan, the capital of Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province. This was reported by Tasnim.
It is noted that the attackers were dressed in yellow suicide bomber outfits, and two of them detonated themselves.
Shooting was heard in the area as, according to some reports, the assailants attempted to infiltrate the police station. Witnesses reported that the terrorists climbed the watchtower of the police station and fired down on the police.
The police and security forces have surrounded the attackers amidst intense gunfire.
It is important to note that Sistan and Baluchestan shares borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan and has a lengthy coastline along the Sea of Oman.
