Two Participants in Shah Cheragh Shrine Terror Attack Executed in Iran
Two participants in the terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine, which occurred in October of last year, have been executed in Iran. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Tasnim agency.
“On July 8, after the completion of legal documentation in Shiraz, the sentences of the two individuals who carried out the attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine were carried out. These two individuals have been hanged,” the statement mentions.
It is noted that at the end of October 2022, five unidentified individuals opened fire in the vicinity of the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, located in southern Iran (a religious complex hosting the grave of Imam Reza's brothers, revered by Shia Muslims).
One of the attackers was arrested on the night of the attack. Later, Iranian media reported that the assailants were not Iranian citizens.
According to media reports, 13 people were killed and 45 others were injured as a result of the terrorist attack.
