Tensions Rise Again in Central Serbia
Tensions are once again escalating along the administrative line between Kosovo and Metohija and central Serbia. Local media report that Albanians are hauling significant amounts of 'special forces' equipment toward the Jarinje checkpoint, fearing 'evil Serbs' to prevent their entry into Kosmet.
Essentially, this involves bikers who have traveled from Belgrade to Kosmet to support their compatriots. This signifies a civil appeal.
On the other side of the checkpoint is Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police are particularly tense following yesterday's provocations by Albanians.
As experience shows, any action in Kosmet can escalate into clashes due to the dissatisfaction of militants established in Pristina.
