"I Was Under the Influence of Certain People, Karen Giloian Did Not Deceive Me": Erik Israelian Regrets

World and European champion among youth boxers Erik Israelian has announced that he regrets his actions and is asking for leniency from the President of the Boxing Federation Hovhannes Hovsepyan and Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Karen Giloian, allowing him to participate in the European Championship in Baku.

In an interview with Ararat TV, Israelian stated, "I was under the influence of certain people. I also make mistakes, I was heated. I appeal to Hovhannes Hovsepyan and Karen Giloian to be lenient. Karen Giloian did not deceive me, I misunderstood. I am also a human, I can make mistakes. I ask that I be allowed to participate in the European Championship in Baku. I promise to raise the Armenian flag high and uphold our country's name alongside them in Baku,"

Erik Israelian said.

It should be noted that on July 6, the Government approved a draft decision to terminate the suspension granted to Erik Israelian for significant achievements in the field of sports.

When asked if regret was caused by the loss of the suspension, Israelian answered negatively. "The reason for my decision is that I want to participate in the European Championship in Baku and wave the Armenian tricolor. I do not want to miss this chance as I am in good shape and know I can do it," Erik Israelian stated.
